How Does Your Garden Grow?
As we wind down the OLD year and start on a NEW one, it is time to rid ourselves of some old things that are non-productive and add some new things to our life which will help them smell like a bed of roses. We need to “Weed & Feed.” We need to weed out the bad or evil seeds that we have allowed to be planted in our hearts of fear, doubt, unbelief, bitterness, hatred, jealousy, strife, and resentment. And we need to replant seeds of love, forgiveness, peace, joy, patience, gentleness, kindness, goodness, and faith in our hearts. Weeds grow automatically, but good seed has to be planted intentionally and cared for with tender love and care. How do we overcome evil? With good (Romans 12:21)!
You also have to water your garden every day, or it will wither and die. Just like your body has to eat to live, your spirit needs to be fed daily in order to live. Feed your heart good things and you will reap good things. Feed your heart evil things and you will reap bad things. It’s not complicated. It’s your choice. Whatever you plant, you reap! If you want to change the outside, you must first change the inside. What are you eating? What are you feeding yourself? What are you chewing on and meditating on? Or what’s chewing at you, gnawing at your insides? What’s eating you? Do you have a poisonous cancer of fear, worry, bitterness, resentment, or unforgiveness that is killing you? Pull the weeds, and start planting good seeds. It’s time to rid yourself of those negative thoughts and behaviors that are keeping you in neutral, spinning your wheels but going nowhere, so you can start living and enjoying your life! You only have one life to live…let’s make it a good one. Let’s make 2019 your Best Year Ever! It’s time for out with the old…in with the new!
Philippians 4:8 (AMP)
Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].
